Perfect external conditions were found through the Stuttgart traditional Team Wallenwein Rallye Sport in cooperation with Tyczka Totalgaz Rallye Team at the 22nd Pegasus Rallye Sulinger Land. The 3rd run to the ADAC Rallye Masters had with 99 participants a high quantitatively as well as qualitatively level. The geographic nearness to Holland and the attractive special-stages lure annually many top teams in the north of Germany.
Sandro Wallenwein and his Austrian co-pilot Pauli Zeitlhofer went in the yellow Subaru Impreza as first on the stage. Without bigger problems the successful duet could set up in the top flight and inspired with spectacular driving style many spectators on the edge of the special-stages. On the fourth whole rank recumbent and the aim already to the griffin near, the final attack on the stage was stopped suddenly and without advance advice:
„The gear suddenly admitted no more gear change and therefore we had unfortunately to surrender. We are very contented with our appearance and were able to collect many experiences. A praise to Christian Riedemann, in the Citroen C2, which finished the competition as second behind Carsten Alexy in the Audi S2. It was big fun to fight with the HJS Motorsportsboss Klaus Osterhaus on Mitsubishi, who finished the rally on 3rd place. Now we know on which parts of the car we have to make further developments and are glad to look forward to our next assignment with the LPG powered Subaru”, says Sandro after his first rally with alternative fuel.
Jrgen Farkas from the Tyczka Totalga Rallye Team means: “We say thanks to Wallenwein Rallye Sport and of course to Sandro and Pauli. They have prepared perfectly our with LPG powered Subaru Impreza and proved that our rally-car is competitive. To be permanent in the top 5 within this high-carat starters field is more than we expected. It is a pity that a “cent-article” within the gearbox stopped this great race.”
